It no secret that exercises are good for your health, in order to keep your muscles elastic, maintaining normal weight, and to help you live for a long time. For all these similar reasons, your pets need regular exercise. It will not only make them live longer, but also burn their nervous energy and that will make them less likely to  chew on the furniture dig holes and get up to all there usual mischief.

So, with the responsibility of being a pet owner, you have to make sure that with the utmost importance to your pet. Your priority should to keep your pet in a healthy state with exciting and energetic exercises on a regular basis.

The amount and methods and exercises vary from pet to pet. So, before you begin to make a short consultation with the vet, then as per the recommendations, start  exercising your pet.

During the exercise, dogs seem more energetic and full of fun than any other pets. Start the particular exercises suggested by the vet for your dog. Start with little lenient towards him and slowly switch to the longer duration of the exercises. Walking and swimming are a great option in the beginning.  Give adequate time to your pet. To make sure they  build the muscles and cardiovascular over time, rather than putting unwanted stress and loads on their joints. 10-15 minutes of walking and swimming is good in the earlier days and further slowly can be extended to an hour, if you find sufficient stamina in your dog. Look out for the following things –

  • Look out for any uncommon signs of exhaustion, tiredness and problem, while breathing. If that is the case, then you cannot let him do the exercise.
  • The safety of pet is should be your major concern.
  • Try to make him run through grass and dirt paths, rather than concrete road and rough areas, as they get irritated in doing so.

Cats are quite different from dogs, and so their time of exercises is based on short periods. Start with strong exercises rather than going with long sessions of slow exercising pets.

Methods to get your cat moving :–

  • Provide the object that can be scratched, as scratching will tone and regulate the back and shoulder muscles of your pet.
  • Make use of the things on which the cat can climb like paper bags, and boxes.
